 Welcome to our company, we thought you may want to know a little bit about us…

My Name is Jenny and together with my Husband (and three small children, Freddie 8, Maggie May 6 and Stanley 11months) we own Pretty Little Home. I wanted to create this blog to keep you, our wonderful customers, up to date with everything that goes on here behind the scenes at Pretty Little Home. We will be doing my best to give you a monthly update of PLH so please check back!

The team thought it may be a good idea to let you know a little bit about us as a company, how we work and explain our day to day life of running the business.

I started PLH when my little boy was born in 2014. It was the perfect way to be both a new mum and also earn a living. It started by simply buying what I love (and it still remains this very much today), and using our home as a platform to show these beautiful products. I soon found that other people also loved what I loved and the business got busier and busier each week.

What is Pretty little homes style?

If I had to describe my homeware style, I would say Hamptons New England mixed with a little Nordic and Shabby Chic. To me, a home is a place that you instantly feel calm and happy, shut out the outside world and know you are safe. A simple candle lit, with a cup of something warm in your favourite mug is sometimes all it takes.

After a few years of long hours and hard work our business really started to grow, and we decided we could no longer do this from home. As PLH was simply outgrowing the spare room downstairs. We moved the stock out of our home and found a small farmhouse to work from. This worked well for a for years but eventually we also outgrew this and needed something bigger and permanent so we could have a secure and solid base for the ever-growing business.

We managed to find our current warehouse, at first the warehouse felt much too big for us and of course it was worrying but we thought it was worth the risk. Both myself and my husband knew that with enough hard work we could make the new premises work and that we could grow from here.

Where are we now?

That brings us to today, we are slowly seeing the decline of using suppliers and we have worked day and night to find manufacturers and makers from around the world and took the plunge to design our very own products. For a business, it was a huge risk to take, as we have put everything into the making of our own products. It is really important to me that our items are unique, beautiful and stand the test of time. The process of sourcing and finding makers is not an easy one, many sleepless nights and long days and endless conversations are involved in making sure we found the right people and factories to work with.

The products that we have created have been designed to every last detail, we work really closely with the factories to ensure the end product is perfect, for you, our customer. Of course, this has not come without obstacles and issues, especially with the Pandemic that is COVID 19. Like everyone else we had no idea how much of an impact this would have on our business.

The ranges that we have designed include high end pieces, to more affordable every day pieces. We want to be able to appeal to everyone, and we hope you can find something you love on our website. We have some of our furniture already on the website that arrived earlier this year, we are awaiting several new containers with more in the coming weeks and months.

In the most recents months, we have taken on our first full time staff member- which has been amazing for the business and given me more time to focus on our blog and building the brand. I hope you can join us on this online journey, I will keep you updated via our blog as much as I can.
